Dear Friends,
I want to let you know about a new project that is related to the original Emerging Church DVD for Concerned Nazarenes. I am helping my good friend Tim Wirth who has taken on a new task, and that is to remake the Emerging Church DVD and send out new copies that are specifically targeted to ALL Christians. As you may know, the original DVD was prepared by and for Nazarenes, and we passed out over 6,000 copies at General Assembly last year.
The basic content will still be the same, with a remake of the cover to reflect that it is for all Christians, regardless of denomination, which the first DVD was and still will be as we continue to distribute those. We really believe it is vital to continue warning the body of Christ with this resource, and our goal is to make sure that no one has to incur any expense to obtain the DVD.
Having taken on this project, and I agree with Tim completely that we need to be concerned about all Christians, this new version will help make sure that all Christians who receive this will clearly understand this is a problem in the body of Christ worldwide, not just the Church of the Nazarene.
We have limited resources, and how well this project goes, and how far it goes, will depend on extra help. Our goal is to continue to distribute this DVD free of charge, including free postage, but it will cost money for the initial editing, and the copies to be made. I am asking anyone who can contribute to this project to send a check to help with the expenses of putting this together. In this day and age of economic hardship, not everyone can help, especially when we have other contributions that we may already make. But if anyone can and wishes to help in this project, you can send a check, no matter how small, to Tim Wirth. The cost of the editing of the DVD is $750, and we have a goal of $10,000 or more, as bulk orders of 10,000 copies or more will cost only 50 cents per disk.
We do want to make it clear that checks for this project are not tax-deductible.
